Daycare and Preschool
As a mum I know how special it is to have beautiful, natural photos of children just being themselves and showing off their personality. When photographing children I like to engage with them by talking about silly stuff and making crazy animal sounds! Forced smiles are nowhere to be seen, only those beautiful natural ones shown when children are enjoying themselves.
How It Works
Consulting with the Centre
I will work with the Centre to identify suitable days for your photo shoot. Once the dates are agreed, we will supply you with:
- A photo week poster that you can pin up in your foyer to remind families about the upcoming centre photography days;
- A flyer for families that can be distributed to let them know the photo week dates, information on how we work and a list of the photo packages and prices.
I will arrive at the Centre by approximately 8:30am on each day and will spend some time in each room interacting with the children so they feel comfortable with me and the camera before I begin. I understand that some children are not as confident in front of the camera as others so I always take time to let each child warm up if need be.
I will photograph children in each room in their order of arrival at the Centre.
I don’t want to hold up your staff in the day to day running of the Centre, so where possible, I will just circulate the room and playground, chatting to the children and taking natural individual portraits whilst they go about their activities.
After individual portraits have been completed on each day I will take a traditional group photo of the children with their educators, ideally in the playground.
It’s always nice for siblings at the same Centre to have photos taken together so I make time to capture these extra photos. I offer a special value siblings package which also includes individual photos of each child.
Complimentary staff portraits are taken throughout the week and will be provided to the Centre as digital files.
Let’s get Those Photos Ready!
After photo week I work on editing the photos ready for viewing by the families in their own personal online gallery.
2-3 weeks later the photos will be available for families to preview online and purchase.
I deal directly with families to share photos of their child privately. This removes all the time consuming administration for your Centre. I will liaise with each family individually. No tiny proof sheets, order forms or money collection is required by your Centre.
Families will be contacted by email and given a password so they can privately view images of their own child plus the formal group photo and then make their purchase.
Should families choose to purchase photos, I offer a range of affordable packages starting from $30. Orders are placed online and payments can be made securely online using PayPal, credit card or via a direct bank transfer. Individual photos are also available for purchase.
A two week cut off period for orders will apply. Once all orders have been received the photos will be sent to a professional quality print lab for printing. Please allow 4 weeks for all photos to be returned to the Centre for distribution to families. Any digital images purchased will be provided directly to the family at time of purchase.
What Should Children Wear on Photo Day?
- Avoid character and branded clothes or really busy patterns
- Simple colours, rich textures and classic patterns such as checks, spots and stripes work well
- Your child’s favourite outfit or colours
- In cooler weather, ensure your child’s jacket is chosen for photo day too.
